Um, did Queen Elizabeth used to be a wee bit dowdier. I like the black and white monochromatic thing she’s trying here while unveiling a plaque at the Chunnel on the 20th Anniversary of the opening. But the video here really makes me laugh. Something amusing about the way everyone jumps to, puts on their best possible behavior possible when they’re around her. Kate Middleton Slept Here

June 21st, 2013

We don’t want to get any royal knickers up in a twist, but would like to offer a wee peek at the hotel where Kate Middleton slept the night before her wedding, ahem. The Goring has a Royal Warrant. And, no, that doesn’t mean that Dog the Bounty Hunter will be showing up any time soon. It is the only hotel with a Warrant from the Queen of England, making it a decided royal fave. And they’ve created a Royal Coronation Afternoon Tea in honor of The Queen’s 60th Anniversary Coronation in July. Includes: Earl Grey tea macaroon with chocolate crown, strawberry tart. Plus, tealeaves sourced from the foothills of the Himalayas. The special tea menu will be served throughout the months of June and July (priced at $52/ $65 with a glass of Bollinger Champagne). In fact, the Goring received DownloadedFileThe Goring's Coronation Afternoon Tea 1-1A3314_The_Goring_0129Horses and Carriage at Entrance 009the 2013 London Tea Award by the UK Tea Guild. Would be pretty sweet to stay here during the coronation anniversary festivities, no?

Fergie Cheers Portrait of QEII

May 31st, 2012

Fergie attended the unveiling of Trey Speegle portrait of Queen Elizabeth unveiled at Jonathan Adler store in London, and offered her compliments to the artist. Speegle so happens to be an artist with one of the very largest vintage paint by number collections, a great portion of which he has showed at the Museum of American History at the Smithsonian. The Duchess of York mentioned that Princess Eugenie is presently studying art, and has recently tried her hand at paint by numbers. Fergie discussed having Speegle meet with the young princess. But meanwhile The Duchess also mentioned Eugenie did have quite a number of social obligations during her grandmother’s Jubilee . . . Miles Chapman, one Brit Lord, and Kate O Toole, Peter’s hilarious daughter were also in attendance . . .
