End of an era . . . well, maybe not. Don’t quite know why they wrote to me personally, but this just in from Girls Gone Wild!:
“Yesterday several of the U.S. operating entities for Girls Gone Wild joined the ranks of companies like American Airlines and General Motors having sought reorganization under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy code. Girls Gone Wild remains strong as a company and strong financially. The only reason Girls Gone Wild has elected to file for this reorganization is to re-structure its frivolous and burdensome legal affairs. This Chapter 11 filing will not affect any of Girls Gone Wild’s domestic or international operations. Just like American Airlines and General Motors, it will be business as usual for Girls Gone Wild.”
A sad, sad day for spring breakers with their tops off. . .

Loving that Ben Widdicombe gave me a nod in the Times today. What a gent. Great story. . . so nutty to come back from wild, wild Indy Spirit Awards to find his kind words. Great piece. . .

Late arrival (really late): They’ve attempted to keep the relationship on the quiet side, but last to arrive, Jessica Chastain and beau Gian Luca Passi [de Preposulo] (exec at Moncler, French fashion company) were glued at the hip at WIF Women in Film pre Oscar bash at Fig & Olive. On the carpet a reporter attempted to hand Chastain a small replica of Oscar and she wasn’t touching it. But that didn’t stop her and GLPdeP from touching in the warm glow at the Italian restaurant inside, where Chastain introduced him to Viola Davis and Daniel Radcliffe. To be fair, Chastain also had hugs for Davis and Radcliffe. Got back to hotel in time to swim (super cold outside, three hours later than last night), and noticed that Big Dipper had seriously moved from night before. Apparently it appears to move 15 degrees across the sky per hour if you’re near the pole. Earth actually turns. Good luck figuring out how many degrees that means in Los Angeles.

Miley Cyrus made my Valentines day. . . so lovely after Marc Jacobs show. Her handler had me walk with her to backstage after show and she just lit up about one of my questions. . . a delight. And what a show! There was a light that was about 30 feet across that was like a sun of yellow light that made everything in the room go black and white for half the show. In this instance, AW was soooo lucky to have the dark shades. Very cool look, mammoth round stage with amphitheater built up around it. Super dramatic music. And all those models with dirty punky black shags. Very intense scene backstage all afternoon. What a production. . . also spotted Sofia Coppola and Christina Ricci.

My big moment at tents today, beside Aly Raisman (Olympic Gymnast), Vanessa Hudgens (a doll), and Katherine Heigl. Photo by Shaina Moskowitz who happened to be sitting across the way from us (probably the best photo ever taken of me if I must say so). The show was soooo beautiful. Vanessa rightly thought her tan jumpsuit by Packham who also dresses Kate Middleton, had a touch of Halston. Felt very glam and very nice of team there to give me such a fab seat.
The day started at Pierre Hotel at 9 am for Tory Burch, Talked to Matt Damon at Naeem Kahn. He was with his wife and they were both clapping enthusiastically at the end. And at Dennis Basso, I talked with Joan Rivers and Joan Collins (kind of great, right?). Also hit Beyonce premiere where I talked to OPRAH! Beyonce said hi; the HBO film is sooo moving. She talks about loosing her first pregnancy. Soooo sad. And then they show footage of her baby a few years later. And her dad holding her baby. Really sweet. And they show footage of their family home and you really get an idea about how crazy in love she and Jay-Z are. It is soooo personal and touching. Really, really rare. Meanwhile, I know this stretches the imagination–as no one else really does this much in one day–but I also talked to every last Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model at their pub fete tonight. They are all crazy beautiful. And my family wonders why I’m so beat in the morning. Guess who told me about the SI fete; hint. . . not the publicist until I reached out to her. Chrissy Teigen. . . also a wonderful person. Wait until you see her house in AD. . . what an issue! Elton on cover. . .

My day job this week, shows every hour on the hour until Thurs next week. . Me with Angela Simmons, the Reverend Run’s lovely daughter. Today at Richard Chai, Ashlee Simpson gave me a smooch on the cheek, which was really sweet of her. And it turned out that Christina Ricci and I collect the same thing . . . (more on that when it is published). Bono came out in the front of house at Edun . . very supportive. Also had a very nice chat with Tadashi Shoji backstage. He is just a very cool man, his inspiration was the fall of the Tsars, but he was imagining a princess escaping to Siberia, which was a great, great look.
This photo is by Charles Eshelman, who is always really nice when I see him, and apparently a gifted photog. .. he really captured Angela’s bright personality in the photo.
