Katie Perry on Day 1 of the LACOSTE L!VE Desert Pool Party at a private estate in Thermal, California. Wow is Perry a fashion original! If she’s not on the ballot for Vanity Fair best dressed, I’m writing her in. She was wearing Dolce & Gabbana. A short walk from the polo fields, party-goers were invited to participate in the world’s largest polo art installation by shooting paint-covered tennis balls at LACOSTE’s “Polo Gigante.” Also had table tennis and bocce and guests could cool down with Patron popsicles and FIJIWater Snow Cones. Also in the house, Chris Pine, AnnaSophia Robb, Alessandra Ambrosio. and Brad Goreski.

For her appearance at William Sonoma in Beverly Hills on Friday to promote her book, “It’s All Good,” Gwyneth Paltrow wore an A.L.C. checkerboard top, and some seriously short shorts. Have to have really great legs to wear those hot pants, and she definitely does. I am the king of saying, “It’s All Good,” by the way. I picked it up from P. Diddy when I was writing his marathon diaries for the NY Post. But his mom later told me it was old school. Perhaps she picked it up from her buddy Jay-Z. Does she look fit or what? She must really eat healthy. . . see “It’s All Good.” And the look was a little more formal in NYC at William Sonoma on 9th, below, See red suede pump by Gianvito Rossi, below, left.

Amy Adams wore the dress first to the Oscars. And then Marchesa did a version for $250 for JC Penny (already sold out unfortunately). But Jean was apparently able to snap it up in time. And she had a flower flourish in her hair from CVS. Amazingly, Jean wore it best. She looked sensational. She usually wears Oscar (the designer) and I had meant to ask her who did the dress. JC Penny was very far from my mind when I brushed by her at the silent auction. .. Brava Jean, and Georgina Chapman…. Well, of course, Amy looked good too, but for $250, this was the red dot special of the new century.

Okay, The Duchess of Cambridge really is a taste setter. Seen here in sensational Max Mara coat and dress. She really is one of the most regal Brit royals in eons. Yeesh, I think I have that blue waistcoat he is wearing. . . They are attending a wedding in Arosa, Switzerland–with some skiing on the side. The bride is Olympic dressage gold medalist Laura Bechtolsheimer and the groom, Mark Tomlinson, who plays polo (with an impressive seven goal handicap) with both William and Harry. Bechtolsheimer’s grandfather is Karl-Heinz Kipp, the German real estate billionaire who founded Massa, the department store chain. The groom’s parents, own the Beaufort Polo Club where both princes play. William served as an usher at the ceremony on March2.
