Inspired by the tailor I am using in the bowels of the fashion district, I went back out shopping and found beautiful mother of pearl cuff links at a Japanese store on Madison, white silk pocket square at Charles Tyrwhitt, and, thanks to Mitch Owens (Merci!), long silk socks at Brooks brothers. The amount of details when you’re going full formal is simply not for this day and age. . . . Paul Cavaco suggested I really bring it when it comes to the tailoring. “You’ll do it once and will always have it.” And I found this guy in the deep basement of a fabric store with two seamstresses working for him. And he had me bring the pants in slimmer at the bottom. I had to visit three tailors before one actually knew how to expertly slim down tails (by Monday at 1pm). I even have spectacles from the 1800s. So much build up, I’m really hoping this ends well. ..
