So happy for Paula Abdul, who celebrated her Bat Mitzvah in Safed, Israel this weekend. FYI, jewelry designer Ann Dexter Jones, Mark and Charlotte Ronsons’s mom, is a descendent of the Lion of Safed (big spiritual leader). It is the birthplace of Kabbalah
Abdul also visited Jerusalem, the Galilee, the Dead Sea and Tel Aviv. And she met with President Shimon Peres and met with Minister of Tourism.
Abdul called the journey, “The most magnificent trip I’ve ever taken…magical and emotional.”
“Holding the ceremony in the tranquil and historic atmosphere of the picturesque 15th-century Abuhav Synagogue in Safed,” says Haim Gutin, Israel Tourism Commissioner for North and South America, “held special signifcance for Ms. Abdul — for Safed is one of the four holy cities of Judaism, along with Jerusalem, Tiberias and Hebron.’”
